Lily* came in for a pregnancy test, which was positive. She was hoping to receive an ultrasound exam that day because she had not seen her baby during the last two exams she had done elsewhere. Lily told her Client Advocate that she did not feel like she was bonding with this baby, and if she didn’t bond with the baby, she didn’t want it.

We scheduled an ultrasound exam for the very next morning. Meanwhile, our staff, volunteers, and even our spouses were praying for Lily and the upcoming ultrasound exam. We prayed specifically for the baby to move so much during the exam, that there would be no denying it was a baby. One of our volunteers even prayed that the baby would do somersaults.

A few days after the exam, Lily’s Client Advocate spoke with Lily and asked her how it went. “It was a wonderful experience. The baby was moving so much that the sonographers were giggling and said they’d never seen a baby move so much. Then, one of them said, “Okay, baby, stop moving so we can get a measurement.” The baby stopped and looked directly at us.”

Lily was so excited that she bought a baby outfit on her way home. On her paperwork that she filled out after the ultrasound, she wrote, “I bonded with my baby.”
