Life Centers, we like to use the phrase “Divine Appointments” – meaning God so obviously put a specific client advocate with a specific client. These appointments have no other earthly explanation, but we know our God is sovereign and it’s extra special to see Him match our clients with our amazing staff and volunteer advocates!
Kenna* was no exception. When she walked into one of our centers, she was broken, afraid, in a state of trauma, and now facing an unplanned pregnancy. She felt alone and in no way prepared to become a single mom, but God placed Jenny* right in her path that day! They connected beautifully and even shared some of the same hurts in life, which allowed Kenna to feel safe to open up about her pain. Kenna’s pregnancy test was positive that day and she qualified for an ultrasound. She was scheduled for a date the following week.
Through a few bumps in the road and a couple of rescheduled appointments, Kenna finally found her way into our center for an ultrasound. She was emotional and terrified, but God, once again, allowed Jenny to be by her side through the entire process. She shared with the nurse and advocate how she so desperately loved her unborn baby, but was so scared to become a mother. Moments later she saw her tiny baby on the screen and heard the sound of their rapid heartbeat. She cried as she said “I already love my baby so much! I know it’s going to be so hard, but I love them so much!”
Kenna chose parenting that day and is anxiously awaiting the day she holds her little miracle in her arms. When asked how her visit to our center played a role in her decision, Kenna wrote, “The women made me feel more comfortable and loved, so it gave me more hope that I can do this!”
Ephesians 3:20-21 – “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
