Spanish Language Radio
Life Center Supporters,
I wanted to update you on the progress we seen since we launched our translation program last year. The results have exceeded our expectations and we are thankful the donors who stepped up in faith and helped fund this initiative.
We have seen a 250% year over year increase in clients coming in to our centers that don’t have English as their first language. The Hispanic community has embraced us and have affirmed to us that they are grateful to have a place like Life Centers to help them as they face challenging pregnancy related decisions.
We want to take this to the next step now that we have refined and honed our processes and procedures to help the Hispanic community. We have an opportunity to advertise on the city’s #1 Hispanic radio station for the entire summer at a discounted rate. These 60 second spots will run 50 times a week for 13 weeks at just $8 p/ spot. The total investment to do this would be $5,200 and we believe this is the most economical and impactful way we can further reach vulnerable women and children.
Our request is simple, would you consider investing again in this endeavor with us? The window for this special offer closes on May 19th 2019. If 26 donors stepped up and invested in this campaign just $200, we would cover the entire cost.
We thank you for your investment in the lives of the mothers and babies that come in to our centers and are grateful you are committed with us as we work on the front lives to save babies and transform lives.
If you would like to donate to help us reach out to more women in need of our life-saving ministry you can here: https://lifecenters.com/give/online-donations/
In His service,
Tom
Sanctity of Human Life Campaign With Moody Radio
For the second year in a row, Life Centers partnered with Moody Radio for Sanctity of Human Life Month. We do this to bring awareness to this important issue and save more babies from abortion.
Moody Radio allows Life Centers to reach more people about the lifesaving work we do in our centers every day. With their generosity, we are able to celebrate life and proclaim its value with thousands of listeners all over the state of Indiana.
This year, nearly $30,000 was raised during our Sanctity of Human Life campaign with Moody Radio.
Life Centers was live on Moody Radio on Thursday, January 17. Executive Director Tom Shevlot spoke on air about the work Life Centers is doing in the Indianapolis community. Liz Canales, a former Life Centers’ client, shared her testimony and experience with Life Centers on air. Her story is incredibly powerful; you can find it here.
While we were live on air, we raised money for ultrasound exams. While free to our clients, ultrasound exams cost the ministry $100 each. Eight out of ten women who receive a free ultrasound exam from Life Centers choose life for their baby. Often times when a woman is undecided about keeping her baby, seeing the life growing inside her and hearing the heartbeat can confirm her choice to keep her baby.
Giving Tuesday Huge Success
Giving Tuesday, which was on November 27th this year, is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season.
This year, Life Centers raised money for ultrasound exams on Giving Tuesday. One ultrasound exam costs the ministry $100, but they are free to our clients. By the end of this year, we will have provided at least 150 free ultrasound exams, which is why our goal for Giving Tuesday was to raise $15,000.
We exceeded our goal. We are overwhelmed by the response we received on Giving Tuesday. As you may know, we had two donors who collectively matched every donation we received on Giving Tuesday up to $25,000. We received $34,790 in donations, totaling $59,790 with the generosity of our matching donors!
You might be wondering why we chose ultrasound exams to raise money for. Ultrasounds are a vital piece of our ministry. Often times, an ultrasound can be the deciding factor in our clients choosing life for their babies. Below are just a few of the comments clients have made after receiving an ultrasound exam at one of our centers:
“Hearing the heartbeat melted my heart, it made me want to parent my baby.”
“The ultrasound made me feel like a mother already.”
“My baby is bigger than I thought!”
“Seeing my baby on the ultrasound made me happier about being pregnant.”
As you can see, ultrasounds are vital to save babies from abortion. Some clients come into the ultrasound room undecided about what they are going to do with the life growing inside of them. More times than not, they leave choosing life and wanting to parent their babies.

Save The Date! Giving Tuesday is November 28, 2017
Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.
With all the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two days focused on sales and big profits for retailers everywhere, why not wait until Giving Tuesday to give back to local causes that are important to you?
What is #GivingTuesday?
Giving Tuesday will be on November 28th this year. According to givingtuesday.org, it is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Our Goal
Life Centers’ goal is to raise $9,000.
What are we doing with the money?
All of the money Life Centers raises on Giving Tuesday will go toward Baby Bundles. $60 pays for one Baby Bundle, and provides a mother with hope and confidence to keep her baby. $9,000 will provide 150 Baby Bundles to be given to expectant mothers right around the holidays.
What are Baby Bundles?
Baby Bundles consist of diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, blankets, and other necessities a new baby would need. Often times, the women who come into our centers fear they will not be able to provide for a new baby. These Baby Bundles give women hope. They show support. They save lives.
Popeyes Restaurants
This year, Popeyes has partnered with Life Centers for #GivingTuesday! The 14 local Popeyes restaurants will be donating one-third of our $9,000 goal. When you give, Giving Tuesday gives back! Popeyes is providing a coupon that you can download and use when you give to Life Centers on Giving Tuesday, November 28.

Life Centers Announces New Center in Boone County
A new full-time pregnancy center will open in Lebanon this November.
Indianapolis, IN: Today, Life Centers announced they have signed a lease for a new center in Lebanon, Indiana. The address is 1208 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
The new center is in a central location across from Lebanon Memorial Park. It will be open 5 days a week to serve the community full-time. Life Centers would like to thank the churches and the community in Lebanon. Without their support, it would not be possible to open a center in Boone County. We deeply appreciate their continued support for our mission to save babies and change lives.
Life Centers’ Executive Director Tom Shevlot says, “We are excited to have a presence back in Boone County. Our previous center in Lebanon was only part-time, but we know that this new full-time center will serve one of the fastest growing counties in Indiana well. Now that this center is full-time, we can help support and provide resources to many more young women and families that need our services.” Life Centers’ previous Lebanon location closed in July of 2016 due to a fire.

Indianapolis, IN: Today, Life Centers announced that they have signed a lease for new center in Noblesville, Indiana. The address is 305 Sheridan Road, Noblesville, IN 46060.
Life Centers’ Executive Director, Tom Shevlot, says, “We are excited to have a presence back in Hamilton County. This was an underserved area. Now that this center is full-time, we can help support and provide resources to many young women and families that need our services.” Life Centers’ previous Westfield location closed on June 30, 2017.

So Thankful!
Life Centers receives many individual gifts during the year and we are thankful for them all. Every bit helps. Even just a baby bundle (which costs about $60) can make a huge difference. We want to take the time to share the impact of two recent grants that we received.
Kaleo is a group of women locally that have been stirred into action. Their mission is be the hands and feet of the Gospel. They recently presented us with a $10,000 grant to help us expand our post-abortive ministry soar (spiritually oriented abortion recovery). This grant will be used to promote the ministry throughout Greater Indianapolis, as well as expand the number of locations and participants. It will help facilitate more healing and freedom for those who have been wounded by abortion.
Grace Church has been a force in the community and faithful partner of Life Centers for years. Life Centers was once again the recipient of a generous grant. We received a $20,000 grant for the relocation of the Hamilton County center and for language assistance with non-English speaking clients. Because our landlord had put the Westfield location up for sale and notified us to vacate, we began looking for new location. We have a new location that has higher visibility and will allow us to be open full-time. The expenses related to moving (including build out, signage, furniture, first year’s lease, utilities and staffing) total around $100,000 and with Grace’s help and leadership, we are over 80% there.
The other part of Grace’s grant helps us meet the growing difficulties of serving clients that do not speak English. The money will be used for technology that will help us connect clients to volunteers that can interpret real-time at all of our centers.
Please know two things: First, we appreciate every gift that we receive and wish that we could publically thank each of you that has given to save babies and transform lives. Secondly, that we will use every dollar to thoughtfully and prayfully serve more and more women in Central Indiana facing pregnancy decisions.
Honoring a Loved One at the Walk+Run for Life
Last year at our Lebanon walk, I was moved by a church that came out big in honor of one of our volunteer counselors who had recently passed away. They walked carrying a picture of her and it was quite moving. As we began to prepare for this year’s walk, I was with my siblings and pitched to them an idea to honor my mom who recently passed at this year’s walk. They loved the idea so this year, we want to open up our sponsorship opportunities to individuals who want to take this occasion and memorialize someone who was very special in your life.
So, in addition to corporate sponsors, we will be opening up the opportunity for individuals to support Life Centers by recognizing that special person or persons in your life. The memorial section will read “in loving memory of……” These will be on every shirt, posters at the event and on our web site.
I’d ask that you consider joining me and my siblings by memorializing someone who meant so much to you. Feel free to send this to others who you think would love to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Attached is information on how to do this and I look forward to seeing you all at one of our two upcoming walks. To make your contribution for the walk, you can go to https://lifecenters.com/give/online-donations/ and after you put in your payment info, scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see where you can designate your tax deductible contribution to go. And right below that box is the place where you would type the name of the individual/individuals that you would like to have this gift in memory of.
Thank you so much for your passionate support of our work in defending the life of the unborn.
Tom
