Last week, a young woman came into one of our centers seeking an abortion. A counselor listened to her story as the woman explained that she would soon be homeless. She was living with her brothers, but when they found out she was pregnant, they told her she had to leave the home. She already has two children and did not have anywhere to go. The counselor went to work and began contacting shelters. All week, several times a day, the counselor called them, not taking “no” for an answer. Finally, Wheeler Mission Ministries took the young women and her kids in.

Through her time with the young woman, the counselor was able to lead her to the Lord. She also told the counselor, “I am going to have my baby and take care of my three children.” And today, the young woman informed the counselor that her other brother is going to get an apartment and allow her and her children to move in with him. This young woman has seen God work through Life Centers to provide hope and a way.

When people ask us to quantify what Life Centers does with numbers, we know that simply giving stats does not tell the whole story. This young woman’s story will not show up on a report, but it demonstrates the compassion that we show each person that comes through our doors.
